In order to play ranked matches in Pokemon Unite, you need to first unlock them. It is quite simple and easy to unlock ranked matches. One of the main requirements to unlock ranked mode is to reach Trainer Level 6. Once you reach level 6, you will get a pop-up by Erbie, telling you that you can now play ranked games. The second requirement to unlock ranked mode is to own 5 Pokemon Licenses. This means you need to have five different pokemon unlocked in your account.

The best way to fulfill both requirements is just to keep playing Matches in Standard mode. In our experience winning approximately 5-6 matches in Standard Mode should unlock all of the above requirements.
