While using the Unison Attacks, take a look at the bar just above the character profiles in the bottom left corner of the screen. This bar indicates the availability of the attacks. If the bar is full, you can use the attack. You can fill this bar by hitting multiple combo attacks.
If you’re playing the game on a PlayStation, you have to press R3 on your controller when the bar is filled to the brim. While playing on Xbox or Nintendo Switch, you have to hit the RS button on your respective controllers.
When you press the respective buttons, the lead character will attack first and consecutively the second character. Keep in mind that you don’t have much time to execute the attack. So, be prepared to select the second character as soon as the first is done.

How to Unlock Unison Attacks
Before using the Unison Attacks, you must first enable them in the game. But prior to that, you have to make considerable progress in the storyline. You have to break the First Seal with Colette and acquire her Angel Wings. Once you’re through with this quest, a new region, Ossa’s Trail, will unlock.
You have to carve your way through Ossa’s Trail and reach the end of the road. However, it is easier said than done as you will face Sheena in a boss fight. You have to beat Sheena to progress further and complete the journey through Ossa’s Trail.
Once you leave the region behind, a dialogue between Lloyd and Kratos will appear on the screen. Kratos will propose a team effort in defeating the enemies to Lloyd. From here onwards, you will enable the unison attacks.
