We got to learn about the more about the Series antagonist Vecna and his ability to absorb his victims into a single consciousness. What does the future hold for our beloved characters now? We will find out soon enough but for now let us take a look at some theories that could possibly come true in Stranger Things 4 Volume 2.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 Theories

Upside Down Takes Over Hawkins

Theory Status: True

Like we said, this was a pretty safe theory to bet on. At the end  of this season, we see the upside down breaking into Hawkins. It causes a lot of major devastation and a lot of residents re left homeless and taking shelter in the Hawkins school. Robin, Dustin, and Steve are seen volunteering and trying to help out in any way possible.

The consequences of this situation will have to be dealt with in Season 5. However, as Will said in the finale, the group has only managed to seriously injure Vecna but not wipe him out completely. Even 11 was not able to deal with him despite getting a massive power upgrade.

Character Deaths

Theory Status: Partially True

The Protect Steve seems to have worked out and the babysitter is fit and ready to defend Hawkins for another season. Nancy Wheeler, Joyce, and Hopper have also made it out of the season finale relatively unscathed. However, this does not mean that the series did not have its share of devastating moments.

We lost a couple of people in Stranger Things 4 Volume 2. The most devastating of these was the death of Eddie Munson. He died with the whole town still thinking he was a cultist murderer. This was hard for fans to take as Eddie’s exit from the show was both heroic and tragic. He finally stopped running and faced the danger head on.

Max Mayfield almost died but Eleven was sort of able to bring her back. However, she’s not out of the woods yet as we see when Eleven enters Max’s mind. There is simply darkness and no sign of Max. We will have to wait and see how it plays out in the next season.

In other exits, Dr. Benner and Jason also did not make it to the next season. Papa was killed as the military tried to take out Eleven while Jason became collateral damage when the Upside Down arrived in Hawkins.

Eddie Or Robin Could Be Instrumental In Saving Nancy

Theory Status: Partially True

Instead of giving Nancy the damsel in distress trope, the show decided to rescue her quickly. Eddie still shredded the guitar in the finale. However, it was to save Max rather than Nancy. Robin was also a part of the core group that injured Vecna and safeguarded the other member of the team.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 Ending Explained

The Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 ending has left a lot of open endings. Since the next season is the last one we hope that they are able to tie up all the arcs in time. The major take away from the Season conclusion is that Hawkins is being taken over by the Upside Down and the residents of the town think that the devastation has been caused by an earthquake.

However, at the very end, we see Hawkins experiencing something like a snowfall. Only it turns out to be the ashes of the ground that the Upside Down is already claiming.

It is evident that Eleven and her friends will be in for a major faceoff against evil in the next season. However, some of the group members aren’t doing so well. While Eddie has already died tragically, Max is also hanging in the balance.

Eleven tries to communicate with her through her mind but only finds emptiness. Given the extent of her injuries, we can expect that Max will have some long-lasting effects even if she recovers. Her sight might not make it back as the damage was quite horrific there.

We will have to wait to find out the fate of Max. The rest of the group is relatively unscathed for now. Since the town thinks the devastation was a result of an earthquake, the news reports have stated 22 other deaths. If any of the deaths are of people that have been introduced in the show, we will find out in the next season.
