Who Is Sea Snake In “Game Of Thrones” Prequel “House of The Dragon?”

I’m sure you’re extremely happy with the news that the GOT prequel House Of The Dragon is in the works. As a die-hard GOT fan, I know the wait will be painfully long. But I also know that when the show actually airs, we will have a lot of fun and entertainment. The show’s cast seems to be finalized, and House Of The Dragon, a Game Of Thrones spin-off, recently dropped a glimpse of Corlys Velaryons aka Sea Snake, building much-needed hype. I was amazed when I first saw the image, and I’m not sure why the character is so oddly captivating. Let’s get to know him a little better.

House Of Dragon: Sea Snake – Game Of Thrones Spin-Off

As per the sources, the show takes place 300 years before the gruesome events of the original and will concentrate more on Westeros’ ancient family. However, more interesting characters will also be featured including handsome hunk Steve Toussaint as Sea Snake.

In House Of The Dragons with events taking place in Crownlands, his ancient family has been dominating the greatest Blackwater Bay’s island Driftmark for years. Sea Snake, like the majority of the characters in Game of Thrones, has long-standing connections with the Targaryens, which comes as no surprise.

It might come as a shocker to you but Velaryons have the strongest relations with Targaryens basically they are allies and form part of their inner group.

Sea Snake From Game Of Thrones – Appearance

The show is scheduled to launch in 2022, but the official House Of The Dragon Twitter account has leaked some cast photographs. Have a look at it and let’s see if the same things run in our minds.

Since he is a Velaryons, he is destined to have the same physical characteristics, such as silver hair and violet eyes. He also shares a similar hair tint to Targenyens, his family’s closest allies. However, this is just one picture, and we cannot guess anything else. Let’s wait for more from the creators.

How Corlys Got The Nickname Sea Snake?

I’m sure you’re eager to find out the reason  Having a nickname isn’t normally a big deal, but it is when you have one as exclusive as Corlys’. He is well notorious for going on exciting journeys and making millions. He normally travels by land and sea and is not restricted to his birthplace.

Well, do you want to know one more amazing thing? As per the Ice & Fire Wiki, “Corlys was hailed as the greatest seafarer the Seven Kingdoms had ever known.”

But this isn’t how he earned the Sea Snake tag, though, it stems from his such activities. It has to do with borrowing the name from the boat he embarked on his ride, which was titled the Sea Snake. This points out that it had nothing to do with his achievements as a sailor.

Any Spouse?

Remember when I mentioned Velaryons and Targaryon’s friendship? In the novels, it is revealed that he is the husband of Aemon Targaryen’s daughter Rhaenys. Yes, King Jaehareys’ very own granddaughter. I know how relations are complicated!!

Steve Toussaint Other Works

The actor hailing from the UK has been featured in some highly successful movies like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Judge Dredd. He also worked in several TV shows such as Charles Lander in In The Long Run, Adam in Deep Water, and Ethan James in Pine Gap. Although, once again, he is multi-talented, having acted as a voice artist for video games such as Jurassic World Evolution and World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth.

I know it’s a long wait, but we can surely expect some amazing stories that will transport us to another environment. Hopefully, House of the Dragon will outperform Game of Thrones, and Sea Snake will be a real deal.
