Sharing the reason why they changed the name of KXIP, the captain of the team KL Rahul was quoted as saying to reporters, “I liked the name Kings XI, but the team is a lot more than just 11 players. It was supposed to feel like a family, supposed to feel like a whole unit.”

There were a lot of close games last year that we really felt like we should have won, and that has happened in the last three seasons that I have been part of Kings XI. So fingers crossed, this (name change) will bring us some good luck and bring our team together,” he added.
