Pokemon GO: How to Get or Earn Coins or PokeCoins
The best way to earn or get coins in Pokemon GO is through a gym. You get coins for keeping your Pokemon in a Gym, where it acts like a defender, due to which this reward is known as Defender Bonus. You can earn up to 50 coins per day, and an hour gives 6 coins. The longer your Pokemon stays in the Gym, the more coins you acquire. Treating or feeding your Pokemon regularly will increase the amount of PokeCoin bonus as well as keep them happy in the Gym.
For placing your Pokemon in the Gym. Open your Pokemon GO app and look for the nearby Gym with your team color. If it is of different color, you can defeat the guarding Pokemon and place your Pokemon there. If in case your Pokemon gets defeated, you will get the collected amount of coins automatically.
For now, only one Pokemon is placed in one Gym, but you can do this with multiple Gyms.
You can only receive coins after your Pokemon has returned. And when it does, you will receive an in-game notification, tapping on which will show you the details of earning. You can also check the amount earned by going to the Main Menu and selecting the News option. And then choosing Notifications. Turn on the push notification from settings to receive notifications even when you are not using the app.
