Fortnite vs PUBG: Which One Deserves to be Your Battleground Obsession?

Fortnite vs PUBG: Key differences in graphics and mobile availability. Which one should you play?

The ongoing fight to dominate the battle royale is nerve-wracking. With both PUBG and Fortnite vying for the bigger piece of users’ mobile devices, its impossible to say which game is better than the other. The amount of updates both the games undergo on a daily basis makes one wonder if the best is yet to come.

Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds aka PUBG and Fortnite are two of the most popular games of the same genre. Both the games are now available on the mobile screens making it an even bigger hit globally. While the games do not match each other in terms of stylistics there are some key features like their mobile debut that can help differentiate which one you should play next.

Fortnite vs PUBG Mobile platforms

While Fortnite is currently available on the  PS4, Xbox One, and PC, for android users, the wait is a little more longer. To play Fortnite Battle Royale not only do you need an iOS device you’ll also need an invite to play the game from developer Epic Games of a friend.  Users can still download Fortnite on the App Store as they wait for an invite.

Apart from that users require anyone among iPhone 6S, iPhone SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, or iPad Air 2 devices. Stable and fast internet is also a must considering the game is completely reliant on it. Epic Games has claimed that Fortnite on Android will be “coming in the next few months.”

Meanwhile PUBG Mobile is available on both Android and iOS. All users need is a device of at least 2GB RAM like the iPhone 6 or above or Android 5.1.1 and a stable Internet connection. What makes PUBG an even better choice is that unlike Fortnite you do not need an invite to play the game. Simply download the game and battle away.

Fortnite vs PUBG Mobile download size and price

Another downside to Fortnite is its size on iOS devices. While PUBG Mobile download size is 700MB and 900MB on Android and iOS, Fortnite on the other hand has a 2GB download on iOS devices.

Apart from both the games being battleground royales, Fortnite and PUBG are free to play. Micro-transactions in Fortnite iOS let you buy cosmetic items like new skins and emotes with V-bucks. Fortnite V-bucks price is Rs. 799 for 1000 ($10 in the US) up to Rs. 7,900 for 10,000 ($100 in the US). On the other hand, PUBG Mobile does not have any micro-transactions available at the moment. The battleground lets you earn an in-game currency known as BP as you play. These in-game currencies will help you unlock more gears as you move further in the game.

Fortnite vs PUBG Mobile – do items and progress carry over?

Good news for players who have been playing Fortnite on PC. For those of you who did, you must know that your progress carries over to Fortnite iOS and will eventually carry off to Fortnite Android whenever it releases. Unfortunately the similar cannot be said about PUBG Mobile. For PUBG players, their progress remains restricted to one platform i.e. either PC or Xbox One.

While Fortnite iOS lets you play with those on PS4, PC, and other mobile gamers or Xbox One, PC, those playing Fortnite on PS4 and Xbox One cannot play with each other. Due to a tussle between Sony and Microsoft that hasnt been made possible as yet.
Currently, PUBG Mobile is also restricted to its existing users on Android and iOS separately. The makers are yet to announce a cross-platform play for PUBG Mobile. However, considering its popularity it may materialize soon enough.

Fortnite vs PUBG Mobile gameplay and graphics

Fortnite and PUBG are both in demand with a wide audience to its credit. However, the latter is easier to play due to its thoughtful addition in the control scheme being added in the game. These additions make it more realistic in terms of graphic visuals during enemy gunfire and proximity. Even in devices like iPhone 6s, it more than appealing despite playing on a cluttered small screen.

Similarly, PUBG Mobile is full of buttons. However, it lacks some of the finesse and clarity that make it easier to play. One of the turn off about this game is the manual tap to pick up items to add in your arsenal. Driving is roughed up which makes the overall control and handling of the game a bit too clunky and overrun.

Both games are popular in their own rights. Some for its color scheme, others for its speedy and accessible performance. PUBG Mobile allows users to go into the first-person view that makes shooting simpler which is always a plus. Another thing about PUBG Mobile is its random distribution of gears which can be a little turndown. However, Fortnite iOS is more gratifying and allows users to gain generous loot drops while also distributing host of weapons and items on the map at regular intervals.

If you Fortnite player using an iPhone 6s, you know how amazing the game holds up without any sense of lagging. Even the visuals look pretty real with its cartoony style making the game more interesting. PUBG Mobile has the same effect on users playing it on PC and consoles. Players can choose a visual preset from Low, Medium, and High to allow for a terrific gaming experience. Realistic visuals play a larger role in setting improved performances in these battleground games.

Fortnite vs PUBG Mobile – what should you play?

While some may agree that PUBG is exhilarating and all the rage right now due to his Mobile availability, it also has a huge turn off due to its clunky controls and visuals. Fortnite on the other hand may look loony tonne like but comparatively has a great color scheme and slick performance. Also adding the fact that you can carry over your progress from PC or console to your mobile devices only makes it an easier choice.
So, If you have access or invite to playing Fortnite on iOS, we suggest you better get on with it.
