Breeding Cost In Axie Infinity
In order to breed two Axie, players will need to pay a mating fee with SLP (Smooth love Potion) and 1 AXS (Axie Infinity). While the 1 AXS fee is for every breeding, the amount of SLP required will depend on the breed count of the Axie in question. The higher the breed count, the more SLP would be needed for the breeding.

Importance Of Genes While Breeding In Axie Infinity
Genes play an important role in breeding the magical creatures in Axie Infinity. Axie’s have six body parts and three genes associated with them. Let us take a look at these Genes and understand how they can affect breeding in Axie Infinity:
- Dominant (D) Gene: There is a 37.5% chance of this trait passing on to the Axie offspring
- Recessive (R1) Gene: There is a minor 9.375% chance of this trait passing to the offspring
- Minor Recessive (R2) Gene: There is a very slim 3.125% chance of this trait passing to the offspring
As you can guess, the offspring created by breeding will normally inherit the D gene with a small smattering of R1 and R2 genes. Players can use the Breeding Calculator to give them a better idea about all the possible outcomes in Axie Infinity.

Breeding Two Axie In Axie Infinity
Players can choose to breed any two adults Axie. In order to breed Axie, select an Axie from the inventory and click on the “Breed” button. Now players will be asked to choose their second Axie. Once the selection is made, players can simply pay the fees and start breeding. Once the mating is complete, players will receive an egg which will turn into an adult after five days.
However, players need to remember that Axie can only breed seven times during their life. Therefore, it is a good idea to get an Axie with a lower breed count so that they can get the most out of it. A virgin Axie (0 breed count) needs the lowest amount of SLP. Choosing both Axie from the same class will result in the same class offspring. With different classes, the chances are split between both types. Special gene traits like mystic and holiday can not be transmitted.
