BTS Receive Diplomatic Passports, Appointed As President’s Special Envoy

Here is everything you need to know about the latest meet of BTS with President Moon Jae-in.

BTS is a South Korean K-POP band of seven boys who have successfully managed to get a fan base from all over the world. All members of BTS received a certificate for special envoy for public diplomacy from the President of South Korea today (September 14th, 2021).

BTS Get Appointed As President’s Special Envoy And Received Diplomatic Passport:

President Moon Jae-in gave appointment letters to all the seven members of BTS as his special envoy for public diplomacy at Blue House today on September 14, 2021. Along with the appointment letter, BTS members also received a diplomatic passport and a fountain pen as a gift from the president of South Korea.

President Moon Jae-in also said that this is a very good opportunity for BTS to communicate with future generations and draw their sympathy on major international crises like hunger & poverty, etc.

As an envoy of public diplomacy, BTS will be attending the United Nations General Assembly session in New York happening next week. They are also invited to attend the second meeting of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Moment with president Moon Jae-in.

The Sustainable Development Goals are a blueprint for fighting poverty and hunger, confronting the climate crisis, achieving gender equality, and much more in the times to come.

BTS members are supposed to give a speech at the Sustainable Development Goals second meeting. Also, their short video clip is going to be played at this meeting showing their work and their goals towards reaching the future generations and try to bring their attention to the crisis happening in and around the world.

What Is a Diplomatic Passport?

A diplomatic passport is issued for certain government officials who have to travel abroad often for official duties of the government of their country. The passport is maroon in color and it falls under Type-D passport. All Foreign Services and the Ministry of External Affairs (MoEA) officers receive diplomatic passports as they have to travel abroad often for official government duties.
