There are a total of 10 divisions in Arena mode divided into three leagues. These three leagues are Open League, Contender league, and Champion league. You start in Arena Mode with the open league and have to play and go up to the Champion league by earning a certain number of points (Hype) in the game.

Refer to the table mentioned below to see how many points are required to go from one division to the next one.

Division  Hype
Division 1 0-249
Division 2 250-499
Division 3 500-999
Division 4 1000-1499
Division 5 1500-2499
Division 6 2500-3999
Division 7 4000-5999
Division 8 6000-11999
Division 9 12000-15999
Division 10 16000

The required number of Hypes goes on increasing as you level up and unlock higher divisions. The scoring system in Arena mode is a little tricky as it is different for each division. It depends on Bus fare, elimination, and your position in each match. Read further to understand the ranking system or scoring system in Arena mode.

Note: The scoring system is the same for Solo and Trio mode but it differs a bit for Duo mode.

What Is Hype And Bus Fare in Fortnite?

Hype is a unit used for points that you score in Fortnite Arena mode. You start in this mode with Zero Hypes and have to level up and earn the maximum points required to qualify in higher divisions while working on your skills.

On the other hand, Bus Fare is the number of Hypes (Points) that each player has to spend to play in that division. The first three divisions do not ask for any fare but as you level up certain hypes are deducted from your account as entry fees.

Ranking System In Different Divisions

Fortnite Arena Mode

As mentioned above, there are three leagues divided into 10 different divisions. Players do not have to spend any hypes as bus fare i.e. entry fees for the open league. In contender and champion league for every division, bus fare has to be paid.

Apart from that, since it is a mode that trains every player to become a better version of themselves you get rewarded for every small win during matches. That means, for every elimination, you get 10 to 20 Hypes. Furthermore, depending on your rank in every match you get extra points that are added to your account.

For example, If you killed 2 players in division 4 that counts for (10 x 2 = 20 Hypes for elimination ) and then you also won the match then (50 Hypes for Victory Royale) so you will get a total of 70 points in this match. Even if you do not stand first you get rewards for reaching the top 15 to top 2 players.

There is no regression in Arena mode, which means you are not demoted to lower divisions even if you lose any match or get killed during any. You can keep trying and play in each division as many times as you want without losing your current position in the game.

Here is a table that will help give you get a quick idea of the Hypes that you need to spend or will earn in Arena mode in Fortnite:

League  Division  Bus Fare  Each Elimination  Victory Royale
Open League Division 1 0 20 50

Division 6 -30 10 50
Division 7 -50 10 50
Champion League Division 8 -60 10 50
