Fortnite: What Is Mantling & How to Mantle On a Ledge?

Calling all gamers, here's how to mantle on any ledge in Fortnite.

A new movement mechanic is here now on Fortnite and players are now able to parkour on top of various buildings and ledges. With this new ability, we can now get on top of buildings with ease. But to actually do it can be a little confusing. Never fear though, mantling will come to you so naturally that soon, you’ll be able to do it faster than you can say, “How to mantle in Fortnite?”

What is Mantling?

Fortnite Mantle

To mantle is to sprint towards and then jump onto a ledge. This is a parkour move in the game as you have to take a little bit of effort to do so. But anyone can do it easily in the game.

How to Mantle in Fortnite?

Sprint towards a roof ledge or any ledge that you can find in the game (anything that is above you, really). Then sprint towards that place from the ground below and jump twice (double press A). You will be able to jump on top of the ledge with ease. After doing this at least 3 times, you will have completed the ‘How to Mantle’ Boot Camp quest.

If you don’t have sprint then go to Settings > Movement > Sprint and put in a key that you’re comfortable with using.

Now you can run to higher ground without having to worry about stairs coming in the way. Parkour onto the next position or get out of a sticky situation with this great new movement mechanic as you dodge several bullets and weapons on your way.

Since this is a relatively new mechanic, most players are trying to figure out what works best for themselves. Whether it be on the PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or PC; everyone’s going to soon be able to use this mechanic and catch up with you. So, it’s not one to rely on completely.

Go on and take that high as you mantle onto victory. If you want to read more about Fortnite related articles, then check out this one on How To Fix Fortnite Eliminate IO Forces Quest Not Working? Until next time, continue winning in this Battle Royal game and annihilating your opponents!
