After a long period of uncertainty, Ayan Mukerji directed Brahmastra is set to arrive in theaters this September. Fans recently got to see a trailer for the upcoming movie and were blown away by the stunning VFX. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ayan Mukherji has gone with the absolute best team for the VFX of Brahmastra.
In fact, the company that has done the VFX for the film has also done the VFX for prominent titles like Endgame, Stranger Things, and Jurassic World: Dominion. Moreover, they also bagged an Oscar for their spectacular work in Dune.
Brahmastra VFX is Done by Which Team?
Brahmastra has been a much-awaited film by the fans. The film boasts of a heavyweight cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna, and Amitabh Bachchan. To support this ambitious venture, DNEG has come on board for the VFX of the film. Namit Malhotra is the CEO for DNEG. He is also the founder of Prime Focus Limited.
The company has previously handled the VFX for SS Rajamouli’s RRR and did a marvelous job. In addition, the company also did the visuals for SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Dune is not the only Oscar triumph for the VFX team. The company has also worked on Oscar winners like Inception, Interstellar, Ex Machina, Blade Runner 2049, First Man, and Tenet. Moreover, DNEG has also done the VFX for the hugely popular series Stranger Things.
According to DNA, a source has shared “A large portion of the footage has been sent to the London team so that it can begin working on the visual effects in this period. Aware that outsourcing the job and sharing the content can increase the risk of the film being leaked, Ayan wanted only a core team of experts working on it. The director handpicked a five-member team who are the only people in possession of the footage.”
