On April 5, 2021, Maharastra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik confirmed that the matches of IPL 2021 will be played as scheduled in Mumbai. While speaking to news agency ANI, he said that permission has been given for IPL matches but the crowd would not be present in the Stadium. Yes, similar to last year, IPL 2021 will not have fans in the Stadium supporting their favourite team or player.
Apart from the audience, whoever taking part in IPL 2021 will be isolated in a single place in Mumbai. While talking to ANI, he also revealed that BCCI wants all players participating in IPL 202 to be vaccinated. However, Malik reckoned that he can’t do this unless permission is granted by the Central Government.

For the unversed, IPL 2021 matches will be played in five different cities — Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore. The final match of IPL 2021 will be played in Ahmedabad on May 29, 2021.
