The name of this map is based on the real-life island over the coast of the USA in the North Atlantic Ocean. As a map on Free Fire, however, this map is more than just one place. This map is inspired by real-life locations like Singapore, Malaysia and various islands in the Indian Ocean.

Based on the lush greenery on this map and the residential/industrial setup, it’s no wonder why so many enjoy this map so much. Not only that but the fact that it was also the first map to be created helps! Yet, compared to a lot of other maps in most Battle Royale games, this map is still one of the smallest.

Purgatory Map In Real Life

Purgatory

This beautiful map is most likely based on South American countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Of course, the absurdity of having a ski resort so close to a jungle and the sea is quite funny to think about. Must be some crazy weather out there! The mountainous regions on this Free Fire map are all based on the real Andes. While the rivers that separate various spaces are based on the Amazon river.

The Purgatory map is one that is around the same size as Bermuda. Even though this is a coastal map instead of an island in Free Fire.

Kalahari Map In Real Life

Kalahari

Based on the fact that this is a map that is mostly a desert with some vegetation and life to it, we can only presume that this map is inspired by Australia. Of course, there are a bunch of Southeast Asian spaces as well. Some of these are the Indonesian temple and the clock tower which in reality is based in Pakistan.

This is more of a confusing map since it was supposed to be both inhabited and previously submerged. Which makes it seem like a reverse Atlantis. This map in Free Fire was definitely not based on real-life places.

All of these maps are based on a great big mashup of different locations in real life. Of course, this helps keep the game interesting and fun to play. Each map is that much more unique because of its combination of compositions and inspirations. What do you think about these maps and which is your favourite?
