Pokimane took the unexpected route and talked about an even more important section affected by the ASMR meta situation, the actual ASMRtists. She pointed out how much effort and creativity actual ASMR artists put in then some streamers just come in make weird s**ual sounds and jump to the top.
The whole controversy has given the ASMR community some recognition. Amouranth and Indiefoxx were making ASMR meta streams. They would lick the microphone, make sensual sounds and write fans’ names on their body. All the streams in the meta were already at the borders of Twitch policy. This made the ban less of a shock and more of a matter of time.
Just hours ago both Amouranth and Indiefoxx were unbanned by Twitch after being banned for three days. There was no official announcement as to why they were unbanned. Indiefoxx just said that Twitch wanted them to take the weekend off.
While many supported the ban some also called out the double standards of Twitch when compared to their actions against the h*t-tub streams. Twitch and its policies have been getting flak for a long time now. Clearly, there is a double standard and lack of stability in their policies.
