Indian Rummy is said to be an extension of gin Rummy and 500 rum, which originated from the US.

Rummy is a bunch of matching-card games notable for similar gameplay based on matching cards of the same rank or sequence and same suit. The primary aim in any form of Rummy in 2021 is to create build melds consisting of sets, three or four of a kind of the same rank; or runs, three or more cards in sequence, of the same suit.

If a player discards a card to make a run in the discard pile, it might not be taken up without taking all cards below the top one. In 2021,  Rummy games are way popular in India. Indian Rummy is said to be an extension of gin Rummy and 500 rum, which originated from the US.

How To Play Indian Rummy (13 Card Game Rules) in 2021

The primary objective is to make the best combinations of cards in the form of Sets or Sequences. In order to win, one player has to declare first and then meld the cards in hand correctly. For the unversed, Rummy Game is played with decks of cards which consist of 52 cards and 2 face Jokers each.

Joker

For the unversed, all cards with the same rank below the closed deck are called Jokers, which function as a substitute to any card.

Sequences

In Rummy Game,  a sequence three or more cards of the same suit. Check out the order:

  • Pure Sequence — A Sequence Without Jokers
  • Impure Sequence — Sequences That Contain Jokers
  • First Life — First Life Is a First Pure Sequence
  • Second Life — Second Life is a Second Pure Sequence or The First Impure Sequence.

Note: A Second Life can only be valid if you have a First Life.

Sets

Sets consist of three or four cards with the same rank but a different suite. Sets have the potential to contain Jokers.

How To Group?

You will have to tap on the cards that you want to group. Tap on the ‘Group’ button. Or more the desired card and group them manually.

How To Add?

Tap on the desired card and add to the group. Tap on ‘Add Here’ in the group in which you want to add. Or More the wanted card to your desired group.

How To Discard?

If you want to discard a card, just tap on that cards. Either tap on the ‘DISCARD’ button or drag the card you want to discard to the open deck on the table on the above right side

Score

Score is nothing but a total value of all the cards and that are not a part of either a valid sequence or a set. The only aim is to reduce your score to ‘0’ by forming valid sequences and sets.

How To Declare?

You all 13 cards should be arranged in a proper Sequence and Sets. Make sure one Pure Sequence is needed for a valid declaration. Choose a card that you do not want and select ‘Show’ instead of ‘Discard.’
