Trading is quite an essential element of Pokemon Go. It allows players to get ahead on completing their Pokedex by trading Pokemon with friends. Trading is only available for Trainers that are Level 10 or above. In addition, players must be in the same location to trade. However, at the moment players are not able to trade in the game. The short answer is that the reason behind Pokemon Go trading not working is still unknown. Before Pokemon Go trading was disabled, players were getting more Lucky Pokemon than usual when conducting trades. Lucky Pokemon are quite rare in the game and it was unusual for players to receive them in large numbers during trades. Pokemon received in a trade, only have a slim 5% chance of becoming Lucky Pokemon. This could be the reason why trading is not working in Pokemon Go currently though it has not been confirmed officially.
Is There A Way To Fix Pokemon Go Trading Not Working?
However, Niantic has addressed the issue via Twitter. They confirmed that trading is currently unavailable and that any new updates in the situation will be posted soon.
As the developers have stated, the situation is being looked into. There is nothing players can do except wait patiently till it’s resolved. The tweet followed complaints from Pokemon Go players all over the world as they were unable to access trading. Since trading is such an important element of the game, we expect that the developers will try to reinstate it as soon as possible. Since the trading shutdown arrived on the heels of the Power Plant Event’s first day, players are eager for the issue to be fixed.
