Why Is Pokemon Go Trading Not Working?

The short answer is that the reason behind Pokemon Go trading not working is still unknown. Before Pokemon Go trading was disabled, players were getting more Lucky Pokemon than usual when conducting trades. Lucky Pokemon are quite rare in the game and it was unusual for players to receive them in large numbers during trades. Pokemon received in a trade, only have a slim 5% chance of becoming Lucky Pokemon. This could be the reason why trading is not working in Pokemon Go currently though it has not been confirmed officially.
