God of War is a game full of surprises. While usually, that is a great thing for its players, it can also lead to tricky situations that are difficult to solve. Veithurgard is a great example of this. It is an optional area in the game accessible from the Lake of Nine near Stone Falls.

Once on the beach, players should break through the planks in their left to see a big locked gate. In order to open the huge gates, go through the entry located behind the planks. Here players will encounter a few enemies that they will have to defeat.
Once this is done, use an axe on the disk and chain located to the right of the gate. Return back through the entryway and find a chain located next to it. Pull the chain to close the current way but open the right one. Jump across the lowered bridge. After crossing the bridge, players will see a wheel on their right. They should turn this wheel in order to open the gates to Veithurgard.
